What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that can be — with your consent — installed on your computer or mobile device when you visit a website.
This procedure then allows other web servers, in practice the remote computers on which the sites reside, to retrieve the information that is inside the cookies previously installed on your device.
The systems for cookie consent
To best respond to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) guidelines, the systems for authorization, customization, and refusal of cookies first list the specific cookies of the sites on which they are activated and generally also other cookies from vendors who have joined the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework.
The IAB framework is a European standard for communication between advertisers and online marketing professionals, which uniformly attests the user’s consent status in relation to the cookies of the various adhering vendors.
Whenever a navigator interacts with a consent system that integrates the IAB framework, they can again customize their choices globally or per single vendor, in addition to making their choices for those cookies that had never been proposed to them before.
In practice, if technical uniformity is respected and there are no configuration errors or in the tracking systems by sites and vendors, your choices, at least as far as the vendors of the IAB framework should ‘follow you,’ but in case of doubt, it is always advisable to verify the effectiveness of the system.
You can also manage cookie consent without using these online systems. In fact, all major browsers have settings that allow you to manage the cookies installed on your device, even when you are not browsing.
How cookie consent works on this site
The system of authorization, customization, and refusal of cookies on this site is managed by the Consent service provided by Clickio.
When you browse the pages of the site, a window is displayed that allows you to accept, reject, or customize the installation of cookies on your computer.
The window has a button ‘Accept and close‘ and a button ‘Manage options‘. Clicking on the first, you accept the installation of all cookies, while clicking on the second you access a further window that allows you to individually select the cookies for which you intend to give consent or change consents given previously.
You can also close the window by clicking on the ‘x’ in the top right corner of it. In this case, the standard consent, which includes only technical cookies, will be adopted automatically.

- CTF providers (participants in the IAB framework);
- Google providers (registered with Google, but not in the IAB framework).
